Step into the future with us

We launched MIF Sounds – our programme designed to support Manchester-based musicians and music creatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to much success. As Factory International, we want to take this further. We want to invent new ways to support to those working in music; so, whether you’re a musician, technician, label or creative in Greater Manchester, we want to hear from you! This is about where we can take the evolving music landscape together.

HOW IT WORKS

Future Sounds will continue to offer support for groups and individuals based in Greater Manchester who are involved in music – performers, composers and DJs, producers and promoters, even label owners and managers. We will be inviting proposals mapping out how we can support your work and we’ll consider your pitch. Maybe you need help to make or complete a recording. Perhaps you’re a label wanting to promote some new releases. Maybe you’re looking for support to present a gig or live event. Or perhaps you just need some headspace just to make new music.

Successful applicants will receive peer-to-peer support through regular meetings with your Future Sounds cohort and members of the Factory International Team, alongside opportunities to participate in workshops and talent development sessions to support your creative development. This could also potentially lead to commissions at a variety of levels from major to micro or appearances on our stages and platforms throughout the year at Factory International.
